Status in captivity : More common in captivity than it used to be ten years ago. Now kept in more than forty European and American zoos and a few Asian collections around India, China and South-East Asia mostly. Breeding still rarely occurs.

Remarks : A pair lives in a medium-sized cage in the new carnivores area.
